I just got back from NSW, where I had a promo photoshoot and filmed the video for the next single I will be releasing. It was a jam packed week, jumping straight off a red-eye flight from Perth on Monday morning, and straight into hair and makeup for two days of filming and photos. (Thank you under eye cream!).
Day 2 was especially gruelling, as I had a 4.30am start and spent a chilly 10 hours on set, where the last scene had me going for a dip in the lake in my dress. So. Cold.
After a much needed sleep, the next couple of days were a bit more relaxed. I had the pleasure of meeting up with the current #1 CMC Artist, Kirsty Lee Akers, and Aussie Idol / X Factor’s Hayley Jensen, where we wrote a killer song together, and had load of fun.
I also worked on some new tracks in the studio in Sydney; jumped up to sing with talented country music duo NeillyRich at their gig; and after a bit of an unexpected hiccup, my team and I made an executive decision to re-shoot the video for ‘Chance at Love’ while in NSW. We sourced some props, found a cool location, sifted through my suitcase for something to wear, borrowed a hunky friend-of-a-friend to pretend to be my man for the day, and set the alarm for 4am.
We squeezed a lot into 5 days... But oh, it was so worth it!
I think you will totally love what we came up with.
We’re hoping to have the first video out verrry soon, we've been waiting a long time for it to get here... so stay tuned for that!
In the meantime, I have some videos up on YouTube that you can check out, and if you’re feeling extra awesome, please share with your friends or leave me some comments!
I’ll be putting out a few more cover videos out over the next few months, so if you have any songs you reaaallly want to hear, let me know on my Facebook page -@NatPearsonMusic and I’ll see what I can do!
Such a thrill to have the opportunity to support the Aussie music legends MENTAL AS ANYTHING at the Charles Hotel & the Ravenswood Hotel, with the JASON AYRES TRIO. So cool to see a bunch of artists who love what they do, continue to bring an amazing show to their fans. Thanks for having us!
What a thrill! I sang alongside JASON AYRES to open for the legend that is TEX PERKINS on his WA tour.
Three rockin’ shows at the Norfolk Hotel, The Charles Hotel and the Ravenswood Hotel.
The crowd was awesome and they seemed to really enjoy my rendition of Dolly Parton’s ‘Jolene’.
Such a good time, and Murray and Tex were a hoot!
Fantastic show last week at The Opal Bar and Lounge for the "Songwriter Sessions". Stunning performances by Chris Gibbs and Justine Roberts, and a HUGE thank you to Troy Nababan for accompanying me on guitar. It was a privilege to share the stage with talented musicians. Kudos to Amanda Canzurlo for bringing this brilliant format to the Perth Music Scene, and to everyone who came down to support and keep live music alive.
Were you there? I would LOVE to see any of your photos or videos - hashtag #natpearsonmusic or post to me direct on any social media platform - @NatPearsonMusic
My talented friend and band-mate, Mike Nayar and I joined forces on Tuesday 22nd March & 12th April at the Laneway Lounge to showcase our new music - both individually and together.
It was a great turn out, and we had a great time performing songs to fresh ears, and to our loyal regular supporters.
One of the crowd favourites was my latest release, 'Chance at Love', which if you didn't know already, was penned by Mr Mike Nayar! I know, amazing!
More info on Mike can be found at www.MikeNayar.com
We'll hopefully be back at the Laneway Lounge again soon!
I had the fantastic opportunity to open for the very talented Alt-Country artist Jason Ayres, at The Ellington over the weekend.
It was a privilege to share my heart and soul through my songs, to show my vulnerability, and feel a connection with the audience at this incredible venue. The vibe was like no other, you could hear a pin drop. Troy, my guitarist was wonderful, and really brought the emotion out in my songs.
The room was filled with love and support, and I had a few people tell me they were moved to tears.
Possibly the biggest compliment I've ever received!
Jason invited me up on stage with him to sing an impromptu duet of his song ''Waiting For Love". Watch a snippet here.
I am so grateful for the road that life keeps paving for me, the opportunities that come my way, and the wonderful people I meet, who remind me why I love what I do.
Thank you, forever, from the bottom of my heart.
Congratulations to Jason Ayres on the launch of his 'River You Cry Tour'.
You can still catch his other shows around Australia HERE.
It was a pleasure to share this special moment with you, thank you for having faith in me.

PREVIOUS YEARS ON TELETHON:
Incredible show at The The Mustang Bar Perth last night!
Thank you to Amanda for organising an amazing lineup!
If you haven't come across these guys before - please check them out.
Manda's bubbly personality compliments her catchy pop tunes and beautiful ballads. Her voice is just exquisite, all my friends and family fell in love with her and the band. This girl was born for the stage.

The first act for the night was The The Julius Lutero Band - a guitar styling that is inspired by Hendrix, with thought-provoking lyrics. Captivating.
More info: www.juliuslutero.com/
The closing act of the night was CALLING ORDER - the band formerly known as Bashamm. Armed with infectious melodies, a touch of wit and eccentricity, and stories cast from the pages of life, they had the crowd's full attention for their energetic riffs and onstage humour.

I really enjoyed showcasing some of the brand new tracks - hope you liked them (despite my cold!) hehe

I recall those messy, messy late gigs. The crowds were insane and the lines to get in were ridiculous. Endless Jager bombs were brought to the stage by our regular “groupies” for every band member to down mid-song. Our skirts were as short as short could be, there were a few less tattoos among us. Every week, the crowd was wild, bordering on feral.
Ahhh nightclub gigs. I remember those 11pm starts, and 3am finishes. Back when smoking inside was allowed, and even us non-smokers reeked. After a shower at 4am I’d get into bed, ears ringing, and my boyfriend would tell me to go wash my hair. I’d sleep through most of Saturday, ready to do another 11pm start at 3am finish. And I'd sleep through Sunday as well. But I love my job. There’s nothing quite like the adrenalin from being on stage. The voices screaming the lyrics back at you, the public displays of affection, the moshing.... Those were the days.
And it wasn't just the crowd who got up to antics..
We had pre-gig Wii parties, car pooling convoys, and window mooning. The antics continued on stage.. Once, Brad thought he’d cool down by emptying a bottle of water on his head between bass riffs… only it wasn’t water, it was Jacks and coke. Sticky sweet, he fell into his brother Troy’s drum kit… but by-god they kept playing! Kirsty and I, who have been friends since we were 5, had “FLYTE dance moves”. We aren't even sure how they started. The crowd learned them and danced with us, and it became ritual. We used to change the song lyrics to be about/for them… “Open Your Thighs Up” – to the tune of Run to Paradise. (*cough* Lisa..) Trav had spikier hair, and his own Slingshot-turned-FLYTE fanclub - complete with a memorabilia shrine. He played the role of 'Bouncer' on occasion, and I swear, when he breaks a string, he is the fastest guitar swapper in history. I have war wound scars to this day, from the stairs at Bar120, and Kirsty had post-drinking bruises with their own personalities. Endless pairs of shoes were ruined, and many fun times were had. There were a couple of extra band members: Kirsty's alter-ego "Thallleee", and a mascot named Fernado (may his furry battery operated soul rest in peace).
On that note, I'd like to invite each and every one of you who has attended, or thought about attending a FLYTE gig, to come out and drink with us for my last hurrah as a FLYTE member,
on Friday, 13th June, at The Paddington Ale House from 9pm.
There will be singing, there will be dancing... there will be tears...
and definitely copious amounts of hard liquor.
I would love to see you there.
Love, Nat xx
