Incredible show at The The Mustang Bar Perth last night! Thank you to Amanda for organising an amazing lineup! If you haven't come across these guys before - please check them out. Manda's bubbly personality compliments her catchy pop tunes and beautiful ballads. Her voice is just exquisite, all my friends and family fell in love with her and the band. This girl was born for the stage. More info: www.amandacanzurlo.com/ or www.facebook.com/AmandaCanzurloMusician The first act for the night was The The Julius Lutero Band - a guitar styling that is inspired by Hendrix, with thought-provoking lyrics. Captivating. More info: www.juliuslutero.com/ or www.facebook.com/JuliusLuteroMusic The closing act of the night was CALLING ORDER - the band formerly known as Bashamm. Armed with infectious melodies, a touch of wit and eccentricity, and stories cast from the pages of life, they had the crowd's full attention for their energetic riffs and onstage humour. More info: http://www.bashamm.com/ or www.facebook.com/bashammband I really enjoyed showcasing some of the brand new tracks - hope you liked them (despite my cold!) hehe Thank you to my spunks Mathew Ferguson and Mike Nayar for being awesome as usual and making me sound better You guys rock my world. I recall those messy, messy late gigs. The crowds were insane and the lines to get in were ridiculous. Endless Jager bombs were brought to the stage by our regular “groupies” for every band member to down mid-song. Our skirts were as short as short could be, there were a few less tattoos among us. Every week, the crowd was wild, bordering on feral. Ahhh nightclub gigs. I remember those 11pm starts, and 3am finishes. Back when smoking inside was allowed, and even us non-smokers reeked. After a shower at 4am I’d get into bed, ears ringing, and my boyfriend would tell me to go wash my hair. I’d sleep through most of Saturday, ready to do another 11pm start at 3am finish. And I'd sleep through Sunday as well. But I love my job. There’s nothing quite like the adrenalin from being on stage. The voices screaming the lyrics back at you, the public displays of affection, the moshing.... Those were the days. And it wasn't just the crowd who got up to antics.. We had pre-gig Wii parties, car pooling convoys, and window mooning. The antics continued on stage.. Once, Brad thought he’d cool down by emptying a bottle of water on his head between bass riffs… only it wasn’t water, it was Jacks and coke. Sticky sweet, he fell into his brother Troy’s drum kit… but by-god they kept playing! Kirsty and I, who have been friends since we were 5, had “FLYTE dance moves”. We aren't even sure how they started. The crowd learned them and danced with us, and it became ritual. We used to change the song lyrics to be about/for them… “Open Your Thighs Up” – to the tune of Run to Paradise. (*cough* Lisa..) Trav had spikier hair, and his own Slingshot-turned-FLYTE fanclub - complete with a memorabilia shrine. He played the role of 'Bouncer' on occasion, and I swear, when he breaks a string, he is the fastest guitar swapper in history. I have war wound scars to this day, from the stairs at Bar120, and Kirsty had post-drinking bruises with their own personalities. Endless pairs of shoes were ruined, and many fun times were had. There were a couple of extra band members: Kirsty's alter-ego "Thallleee", and a mascot named Fernado (may his furry battery operated soul rest in peace).
On that note, I'd like to invite each and every one of you who has attended, or thought about attending a FLYTE gig, to come out and drink with us for my last hurrah as a FLYTE member, on Friday, 13th June, at The Paddington Ale House from 9pm. There will be singing, there will be dancing... there will be tears... and definitely copious amounts of hard liquor. I would love to see you there. Love, Nat xx The time is nearing for the Mosaic - RAW Artists Showcase Perth Showcase! Announces the release of her latest single “FOREVER” AVAILABLE NOW ON iTUNES Following the release of her debut singles: “Senseless” and “Impressive Lies”, Perth singer Nat Pearson is thrilled to announce the release of her next single “Forever”, now available for purchase on iTunes. FOREVER is a bright, fun pop tune, with catchy hooks, and a summer vibe. “Definitely sounds like [she’s] got what it takes. [She’s] got a strong voice, and a good recorded presence.” - Snob Skrilla – More Mega - Producer for DJ Havana Brown. Nat Pearson is an unsigned Perth artist, currently working with Perth-turned-Sydney producer and songwriter Michael Tan, who works with the likes of pop artists Johnny Ruffo, Omar Dean, 3 Wishez and Fourtunate (X Factor); and LA Based producer/songwriter Anthony Cormicon. Her song “Senseless” was nominated as a Top 10 Finalist in the Pop category of the MusicOz Australian Independent Music Awards 2013, and received commercial radio airplay with Mix 94.5 on “The Scene” with Blake Williams. She also performed “Impressive Lies” on Channel 7’s Telethon on the “Rock Shift”. Here we are again, the end of another year. I hope 2013 brought you as much joy, as it did me. I have learnt so much, and accomplished much more than I expected. It has certainly been an eventful year, and seemingly the quickest one I've had yet. This was year that I decided I was going to do something about making my dreams, reality. I've surprised myself with what I managed to achieve in one year. I released my first two singles, and two music videos - "Senseless" and "Impressive Lies" thanks to my producer and co-writer Michael Tan, and Video Director Dean Butler from Alucinor Productions. Kicked off my website, launched my singles on iTunes and played my songs live, and music videos to a larger-than-anticipated crowd. Loved every minute. My songs received their first commercial radio airplay, and I had my first on-air interview on Mix94.5 thanks to Blake Williams. This year I also received my first APRA royalty payment. (Woo!) To my surprise, one of my songs was nominated as a finalist for a MusicOz Australian Independent Music Award, and placed in the Top 10 in Pop. I also was ranked 54 overall on the People Choice Charts out of thousands of entries, I attended the awards in Sydney, and walked the red carpet (highlight!!). My artist profile jumped to #2 on the Reverbnation Perth Pop charts, and #5 Pop Nationally. Also scored a featured artist spot on their homepage, which gave me great exposure. I performed at the opening of Channel 7's Telethon behind Johnny Ruffo, and also performed my own original song, backed by Perth band 'Bashamm', later in the night on live television. Played 140 odd gigs with FLYTE, The Wire Birds, Velvet, and Felix throughout the year. Recently, I recorded a new single due for release early in the new year, and I have recorded some other tracks for collaborations... Lastly, I signed my first Side-Artist agreement with a US producer and label, to sing a yet-to-be-released collaboration with a notable US artist. :D Thank you universe. You did good. I'm extremely grateful for everything I have in life, and that I have been able to achieve with the support of my friends and family. I will do you proud in 2014. "Bet your bottom dollar, that's tomorrow." HAPPY NEW YEAR! Thank you for your endless love and support, I look forward to an even better 2014, and I hope it's good to you. If you've got a dream, tomorrow is a new year. Make it yours. xxx Wanna know how one man, with one camera, and one girl, in bare feet in a wintry forest put together a music video? Check out this blog by ALUCINOR PRODUCTIONS! <Click HERE> Check out the video: What a night! I feel so very humbled by how many faces came out last night to support my music release. Without further ado, the videos have now been released online: www.youtube.com/NatPearsonMusic Fly babies, fly! Photography: Ash Rhielle Photography What a NIGHT! Musicoz is a national initiative dedicated to improving the quality of original music culture in Australia. This year, the awards were held at The Star Casino, Darling Harbour, Sydney, on November 7th. This was my first year entering, and I was stoked to discover my name among the list of nominated finalists from about 6000 entrants. The end result? I was Top 10 in the POP category nationally, and I also creeped up to 54 in the overall People's Choice Award! See the 2013 Top Songs here. I'm super proud of this achievement, and I'm very much looking forward to attending the awards again next year! (And I am in LOVE with Sydney!) Massive thank you to my co-writer and producer Michael Tan, for bringing my ideas to life and allowing my dreams to become reality. 'Forever' grateful! The night was incredibly entertaining, eye-opening night, which provided priceless networking opportunities and exposure. Thank you to the event organizers crew and volunteers for putting on a fabulous night! I highly recommend for unsigned artists to enter next year. These awards are the biggest and most credible awards for unsigned and independent music artists in Australia. I’m absolutely BLOWN AWAY because I’m currently at 54 in the Top 100 on the MusicOz People’s Choice awards charts!
That’s basically all because of YOU. I honestly can’t be thankful enough! With the awards night a few days away (7th November!), I’d love to stay there, or inch up a little higher if I can! If you have a spare moment and can go to this page, put in your email address at the bottom and confirm the confirmation email they send you. (You can do it every day if you’re particularly awesome!) www.musicoz.org/NatPearson1 Thank you! You Rock! Dear Lazy People who did not stay up until 5am on Sunday Morning, Shame on you. Just Kidding. Love you :) x Here's my Telethon Perth video. Check it. Those spunky dudes with me are from an awesome band called Bashamm and they were so generous to hang around after their own performance of "Knowing" (below) to share the stage with me for mine. Please take some time to check them out - www.bashamm.com I had a great time, and got to catch up with some of Perth's amazing musicians, all in the name of charity. And what a result - $20.7 Million. WA, you should be extremely proud of yourselves. Thank you to all involved in this legendary weekend that is TELETHON.

You can vote ONCE A DAY - EVERY DAY (Please make it your morning ritual from every email address you've got!) Love you forever and ever and ever!!! xxx There was blood, there was sweat, and there were tears! But verrrry happy tears in the end. I am pretty proud of myself for pulling this off with so many set backs. Impressive Lies, I hope, is an empowering song, and I wanted the video to emit a sense of Girl Power, while at the same time having a down to earth, fun, and comedic storyline. After throwing ideas back and forth, Dean (Alucinor Productions) and I developed this concept that I hope will intrigue the viewer to watch through to the end to see what happens. I believe songs should tell a story or have a message, and I wanted the music video to do the same. Both shooting days went so smoothly and considering all the last minute dramas with cancellations, and Plan B, C and even D coming into play ... I am absolutely CHUFFED that the schedules went off without a hitch!! I'll be having a little video launch on completion to celebrate, and hope to see lots of friendly faces. Subscribe to my facebook page to look out for the event, the more the merrier :) Thank you to my amazing main characters - Mike Nayar from My So-Called Life, Scarlet Adams, Megan Bulley, and Llewelyn Baker, my band - Michael Basham from Bashamm, Miikey Dean-Smith from Velvet, and Troy Nababan from Crank Recording, my seductresses Ruby, Persia, Jacinta and Hope from Bobbi's Pole Studio Perth, my wonderful dancers Jess Sweeney and Jill Sarangapany from Studio24Music, Tamara Artemis from Explosive Dance, Kelly Millikan, Alicia Rawlinson and Kelly Skinner from Perth Dance Centre, Julie Moran from Bobbis Pole Studio, Helen Abate and my graffiti artist Jess Goodman ;) Thank you to my team players Mel Grace from Bobbis, Brooke Palmer from Perth Dance Centre, David Found, Dan De Florenca, Tristan Staines.. and to Monique, Vegas, Chante Jermaine, and Coco Chanel from Allure Entertainment - My team of lifesavers, when I had challenges thrown my way. Your professionalism, patience and dedication to your character roles were second to NONE! You guys really made the whole thing come to life, and are literally making my dreams come true. I cannot express to you how grateful I am for your generosity! I am forever in your debt! Thank you to Daniella Piscopo - Makeup Artist for making sure I didn't LOOK like I was running on just 3 hours sleep and a 4am start ;) and Aimee from Allure Beauty Couture for keeping my cast and I looking glam throughout the day. Thank you to Polekadot for supplying my seduction 'props'. Last but certainly not least, a huge thank you to my handyman Aaron Staines, the set up crew, Matt Pountney from Systemlink Productions, Dean Butler and the team from Alucinor Productions.
I wish I could just survive solely on the music, but there are bills to be paid, so I also work full time at a Real Estate office in Subiaco. Somewhere squeezed in there is time for writing, vocal practice and dance classes! I am addicted to coffee to say the least.. Haha. The dream for me, is to be doing music fulltime. Meeting other artists and musicians, learning, evolving, improving. I would LOVE to tour! I’m working on it.. You may think I’m a shy person at first, but once you get to know me on and off stage, and you’ll see there’s more to me than you think! Being on the stage so frequently, has seen me grow into a confident performer, and I’d much rather be there than anywhere else! Check out my Facebook page – www.facebook.com/NatPearsonMusic and Twitter www.twitter.com/NatPearsonMusic for the latest on what I’m up to. Where did you grow up? I was born in UK, but raised in Perth. My immediate family are here in Australia: Mum, Dad, and my two younger brothers, Ryan and Adam. All my Aunties, Uncles, Cousins and Grandparents are back in Liverpool, and I've been back there a few times to visit and meet new family members. Tell us three things about yourself. I'm bighearted, I'm addicted to shoes, and I have a Westie called Jock! Your ‘perfect life’ would be… To be surrounded and supported by music, love, good friends and family. Listening to my ipod on the beach, dancing, recording in the studio, and be on tour around this glorious world with a hot band to a massive crowd! Your first concert, and your last concert? My first concert was Michael Jackson 'HIStory' at the Burswood Dome when I was 9 or 10? My parents took me. Ohh it was phenominal! Best present ever! (Thanks Mum & Dad!). The last concert I went to was P!NK 'The Truth About Love Tour' at Perth Arena, and she blew me away (again).. I'm totally fangirling. Singing live while trapezing upside down and flying over the crowd??! She is a force to be reckoned with, and everything I aspire to be as an artist. Your favourite band? Paramore! Hayley Williams is amazing! I saw her headbang and sing 'Misery Business' live without wobbling a note.. Op! There I go fangirling again! Your favourite TV program? Ooooh tough one! I'm rewatching all my Greys Anatomy episodes at the moment. Can't get enough of McDreamy and McSteamy! I'm also really enjoying Pretty Little Liars and Revenge too. Come on new episodes! What motivated you to choose the stage? From a young age I was fascinated by musicals, and I’d dress up and dance on top of things with my hairbrush-microphone in hand. I must have watched Annie a thousand times! Mum put me into dance classes, and I started having singing lessons after entering a Talent Quest age 5 and winning the Encouragement Award. From then I actually got to BE in my favourite musical, Annie, after scoring the role of Molly in a stage production. The fire started there, and hasn’t extinguished since! What’s been the biggest health challenge you’ve overcome and what did you learn from this experience? I have had issues with anxiety that have been worse in the past, but I deal with it now, and it is on a much more manageable scale. I think everyone has an uneasiness of the unknown, and it sometimes prevents us from putting ourselves out there for fear of failure or rejection. I’ve learnt to feel the fear and do it anyway! I still get nervous, and I still get rejected, but I gotta keep putting myself out there. If you want something you’ve never had, you’ve gotta do something you’ve never done! What’s your top tip for kickstarting the day? A protein smoothie to boost my energy! My Fave: Almond milk, mixed frozen berries, a banana, vanilla protein whey, chia seeds, coconut oil, and ice. Blend, blend, blend. This is my healthy start to the day! (Then it all goes downhill from there haha!) I also like to play upbeat music to get in the mood :) Beauty essentials? Moisturiser! Every morning and every night. And I always take my makeup off before going to bed, no matter how tired I am. Although, once I had to leave my makeup on for a music video overnight, because we were in the middle of nowhere, with no makeup artist to redo, and I needed it to last for two days worth of filming. As soon as it was a wrap, the first thing I did was scrub my face. It was heaven. What's your guilty pleasure? Chocolate. There's nothing else to say.. How do you like do keep fit, and why is it important to you? I love to dance, and I have discovered poledancing is a brilliant endorphin release! It’s a mix of cardio, stamina, weight resistance training, core strength and flexibility, with the added challenge of mastering each new move as you progress up the levels. As someone who dislikes the monotony of the gym, this is perfect for me, as my mind is distracted by trying not to fall off, and perfecting those lines, instead of thinking about how much my calves hurt from running. It's such a mood lifter I forget I'm excersizing. We have a lot of fun in class. I love my pole girls! I go to Bobbi's Pole Studio in East Perth. Having a physical release of energy and emotion, is the ultimate de-stress cure for me! A random fact about you? I can roll my tongue? Oh, and I still have a baby tooth! What career challenges have you faced and what advice would you pass on to others? Biggest challenge is definitely the limitations of time! There is so much I want done, and I want it done NOW! But these things require patience, especially when you’re relying on other people who are even busier than you! Quality over quantity.. And making music is expeeenssivvee! But I’d rather give it my all, than regret not going for it. Coulda, woulda, shoulda! Negativity is another challenge. There will ALWAYS be someone out there trying to burst your bubble and bring you down. Haters Gon' Hate, but don't let the haters stop you from doin' your thanng. Did I just say Thang? (Did I mention my favourite movie is Mean Girls?). My advice is to persevere, and do whatever you can to chip away towards your dream life. Believe in yourself, stay positive! And always be humble, remember where you came from. It’s nice to be important, but it’s more important to be nice. This week, I have been shooting the music video for my track "Senseless" at the most picturesque, beautiful, peaceful place... Donnelly River, 3.5 hours south of Perth, Western Australia. It was freezing (-2.5 degrees celcius), and it rained, but we worked hard for 19 hours straight, and I think the result will be amazing! The local people were lovely, the animals were curiously cute as buttons, and the Roos even tried to upstage me on camera ;) The City Slickers would have made Bear Grylls proud, only a kilo of firelighters were harmed in the making of Senseless, and only minor campfire kindling thievery took place. Thank you Dean from Alucinor Productions for your hard work and patience on this one! Cannot WAIT to share the final product! Rock N Roll. #Senseless #MusicVideo #NewMusic #RoadTrip I finally have my tracks up on Triple J Unearthed page! You can check it out here: **Nat Pearson on Triple J Unearthed** I would LOVE LOVE LOVE if you guys could play it, rate it, review it, request it!! Mwah Mwah!! xx I went to see P!NK again at #TheTruthAboutLoveTour in Perth this week. WOWZER.
P!NK exceeds herself in everything she does, she MAKES the impossible possible. She's continually raising the bar. Her showmanship and dedication are the epitome of everything I aspire to be as an artist.
